Housing in Alpedrete Madrid, 1997

Building Construction and Energy

The building is designed to be in natural harmony with the traditional construction techniques of the Madrid mountain range, with a clear expression of its construction systems.

The enclosure walls form squares between the visible metal frames. They are made of granite blocks with resin mortar.

The profiled sheets, as well as for the floor structures, are also used as enclosure walls for the partition walls. Roof structures and divisions are constructed from plasterboard. The roof is made from flat tile roof materials, which is installed over the steel sheet structure and insulation.

This construction system, without the need for masonry works, provides for the construction of the homes a bit like if they were offices. The installations are able to be easily maintained and the entire process is somewhat more technical.
